How it works

It’s simple. Sign up via meetup.com (it’s free to be a member), or contact me to register if you are not on meetup.com. Once you are signed up, show up at the time of the meetup and pay upon arrival. If you had fun the first time, book another one, and another!

The purpose of these meetups is to have fun with chocolate, socialize, meet new people, and learn about chocolate. It’s not an official tasting, but simply a social with chocolate to taste!

Each Eventbrite listing will have a description of what to expect. It is for beginners, enthusiasts, and anyone in between.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ How much is it?

Each meetup will be $10 per person. You can pay in cash or etransfer at the event. The price may change in the future.

+ Purchasing Tickets

Spots can be reserved at meetup.com. This ensure I know how many people are coming, who is coming, and any other information I may need to know ahead of time (dietary requests, etc.). You will pay upon arrival at the event via cash or e-transfer.

+ Refunds or no-shows

Please don't sign up until you are ready to commit. Currently you pay when you arrive, but I may set up payment to secure seats in the future. There are no refunds, so make sure you're able to join before commiting. You can reschedule one time if you encounter a real conflict of schedule. Consistant No-shows may be banned from the group, so please respect my time and let me know if you will be canceling or be very late.

+ How long is a meetup?

The meetup itself will be around 60-90 minutes, at which point people are welcome to leave. However, I will hang around for another 30-60 minutes for those who wish to mingle more, ask questions, or just sit and relax.

+ Can I just drop in?

Preferably not. Most meetups I need to prepare a bit, make sure I have enough samples and supplies and such, so I ask that you buy your tickets ahead of time so I know who is coming. If something changes, and you perhaps want to bring a guest or someone cancels, contact me by phone, text, or email and I can see what I can do!

+ Dietary Requests

Each meetup will be different, and will include different types of chocolate and samples. Sometimes you may be able to request dairy-free/vegan options, but sometimes this may not be possible. Please read the eventbrite posting to see the details for that tasting.

Much of the chocolate I use is high quality single-origin dark chocolate which is by definition vegan/dairy/nut/gluten free (but not all meetups will only include this type of chocolate).

Keep in mind that in all my tastings, kitchen classes, and online orders I cannot guarantee any samples did not come in contact with allergens such as nuts, dairy, gluten, alcohol, and other. Many bars are made in small-scale kitchens where cross contamination is not 100% avoidable.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact me and ask.

+ Purchasing products afterwards

I do have a showroom here where people who visit can purchase bars and products. However, the purpose of these meetups is to simply taste, learn, and have fun! You're under no pressure or obligation to purchase anything. I'm happy to simply have you attend and partake in the meetup!

Of course, if you wish to purchase something, you're welcome to browse and do so.

Payment is via credit card, debit, apple pay. I don't usually have cash available on-site.

+ What type of products will you be sampling?

It really depends on what ideas I come up with. Might be products I sell in my online shop, it might be new products we can explore together, it may be products from local shops in the GTA. The possibilities are endless!
